Ford Rolls Out New Theft Prevention Tech with Remote Kill Switch for F-150 and Future Models

This innovative addition, part of the brand’s new Ford Security Package, allows owners to remotely disable their F-150’s engine no matter where the vehicle is located globally, effectively preventing thieves from starting it.

Initially rolled out with the 2024 F-150, the Ford Security Package will eventually be extended to the 2025 Super Duty trucks and other future Ford models. But this isn’t just a basic immobilizer system, like the cheap versions you might find on online marketplaces—this is a comprehensive theft prevention suite. FordPass, the mobile app, now allows owners of eligible F-150s to remotely activate the “Start Inhibit” feature, a function that was previously available only to fleet vehicles. This feature prevents anyone, even someone with a valid key, from starting the truck, offering an extra layer of security for retail customers.
